Hi and welcome to a extra special episode of Better Business, better life. I'm joined by my two wonderful dogs, Hermes and Apollo, and we're going to find out what we as humans can actually learn from them as dogs. Let's start with you, Hermes, you seem to have a worried look on your face. What's going on? I do get worried. Sometimes. I worry about whether Mummy will come home, like when you left us at home the other day. Now, Hermes, mummy always comes home, you need to keep your thoughts more positive and stay in the moment. Think about it. I think I think too much. That's my problem. You do think too much. Emmys every morning we go on the same walk, the same route, the same interesting things to see. It's true. I love Walks. Hey, guys, focus. Sorry, right? That's being in the moment, and I think humans should do this more often. Imagine if they got as excited as we do going to work every day or seeing the same people or peeing on No, no, no, no, Hermes, that's just you. But I agree. I really enjoy the journey. It's like when we travel in the car, ooh, car trip. Isn't that exciting? We get to stick our heads out the windows and feel the wind. So what you're saying, if I've got this right, is that we should live more in the moment, enjoy the journey, and not be quite so attached to the outcome.
Debra Chantry-Taylor 01:01
Yes, what else can we learn? I really wish humans would stop judging they judge other people. They judge themselves. We're not saying you should go around sniffing each other's Well, you know, stop Apollo, but I think they could treat everyone a little kinder, including themselves, and treat people how you would like to be treated. You do seem to love me unconditionally no matter what mood I'm in. Is that true? Yes, we love you to bits, Mum, and we always instantly forgive you no matter how you behave. That makes the world a better place, right? Well, it certainly makes my world better Apoll0. we're just so lucky to have you in our lives.
Debra Chantry-Taylor 01:31
You humans should be grateful too, for the amazing people and things you have in your life. You're right, guys, it's not about comparing ourselves with others. It's about finding happiness in ourselves and what we have, isn't it? Nothing wrong with wanting more. Ambition is healthy. Food is my ambition.
Debra Chantry-Taylor 01:46
So I really want to know, guys, what's the one thing you don't think we do enough play, definitely play. Do fun things that make you happy. We do stuff that makes us happy all the time. You don't see us sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves or worrying about things that might never happen. So you're saying we should make time to play. You know what? I think you're right. It's so obvious, but we forget. I blame money. Yeah, get rid of money. We can't get rid of money. It makes the world go round, but you spend so much time worrying about it. There are more important things, like bottoms and bones and cuddles and smoochies.
Debra Chantry-Taylor 02:16
You two are very insightful. We'll take that on board. Thank you very much. You two some really great insights there. Let's see what we've learned. One, be in the moment. Two, don't judge. Three, be grateful for what you have. Four, play more. Five, take time to relax and six, be kind always. Hermione is an Apollo. Thank you so much for your time. You're welcome. Feed me. I'm tired. I can see that. I mean, thanks guys, thank you so much. Hope you've enjoyed this episode.
